Sameet Mehta, Board Chair

Sameet Mehta

Sameet Mehta is the founder of Granite Hill Capital Partners, an early-stage Silicon Valley based venture capital fund focused on cybersecurity, cloud and big data. Sameet was previously at Cisco Systems, heading up M&A and venture capital for India, as well as for consumer and video-based technologies. Other work experience includes hardware engineering at Apple Computer and corporate finance at Lehman Brothers technology investment banking. Sameet is a Stanford Business School graduate who earned an Electrical Engineering degree with a Certificate in Applied Mathematics at Princeton University.


Stephen Bruce

Stephen Bruce

Stephen Bruce co-founded the Alcentra group in 1997 through the creation of Imperial Credit Asset Management (ICAM) and Barclays Capital Asset Management in London. He was responsible for growing Alcentra’s US asset management business from $500 million to over $4 billion. Alcentra was sold to Bank of New York in 2006 and has since grown to over $40 billion AUM, receiving numerous Portfolio Manager of the Year awards and Highest Ranking for back office expertise. Before Alcentra, Stephen was with David Tepper’s Appaloosa Management, a then $1.8 billion asset manager, assisting in developing Thoroughbred Investment L.P.I., a $600 million bank loan fund. Before joining Appaloosa in 1995, Stephen was Director, Corporate Loan Product Manager, for Lehman Brothers in London. In 1993, he started Lehman Brothers’ high-yield loan desk in London, beginning his career at Lehman in 1992 as one of two traders hired to build a bank loan business within Lehman’s High Yield Bond Group: the bank loan team was recognized in both New York and London as the number one bank loan trading desk. Before Lehman, Stephen originated and was co-manager of a $225 million portfolio consisting of investments in leveraged buyout funds, including initial investor in Blackstone and venture capital funds Summit Partners and Crosspoint Partners for Imperial Corporation of America. He began his career at ICA in 1987 as a financial analyst, prior to initiating management of the fund portfolio in 1990. Stephen received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1979 and attended graduate courses in Engineering Economic Systems at Stanford University in 1981- 1982 while working at Stanford Research Institute.


Tiffine Wang

Tiffine Wang

Tiffine Wang is a Partner at MS&AD Ventures, an early-stage global fund (US, Singapore/South East Asia, Europe, Israel) focused on fintech, insurtech, impact/sustainability, and digital health. She previously spent years with Singtel Innov8, working on investments and strategic partnerships primarily with startups and companies in Silicon Valley and North America, and held positions in various global accelerator programs including AngelHack, European Innovation Academy (Portugal, Qatar, Italy, France, China) and Alchemist Accelerator. She serves as an Industry Fellow for the Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET) at the University of California, Berkeley, and sits on the Advisory Board of UC Santa Cruz’s Center for Analytical Finance.


June Ou

June Ou

June Ou is a co-founder and the President of Figure Markets Holding Inc. In this capacity, Ms. Ou is responsible for the marketplace, as well as all product and engineering, data and analytics, and company human resources. Ms. Ou, previously as co-founder and President of Figure Technology Solutions, built the [190+] person Figure product and engineering team from employee one and spearheaded the company’s strategy and development of cutting-edge technology solutions in lending, payments, and exchanges. She also led the development and subsequent open-source release of Provenance Blockchain. Under her leadership, Figure has pioneered production use cases in on-chain payments, bilateral asset exchanges, artificial intelligence for credit and marketing, and non-parametric FICO-less underwriting. As of November 2023, Figure has enabled $32b real-world asset tokenization on Provenance Blockchain using technology built by Ms. Ou and her teams.

Before Figure, Ms. Ou was the Chief Technology Officer of SoFi. She was responsible for product, engineering, and data and analytics in this capacity. She built the product and engineering team from less than 5 when she started in 2013 to over 300 when she left in 2017.
She was responsible for bringing award-winning lending, banking, and investment solutions to market that helped drive SoFi’s rapid growth and profitability. Ms. Ou helped implement one of the most sophisticated artificial intelligence applications for customer pricing, helping to push company lending contribution margins to best-in-class levels.

Before SoFi, Ms. Ou held a variety of technical and management roles as co-founder and CEO of CCO Solutions, VP of Engineering at Finaplex, and Senior Director of Advanced Technology at Metamor. She holds a Master’s in Management from Stanford University, and a Master’s in Applied Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has worked in both the US and Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Ms. Ou is a strong proponent of distributed workforces. She runs her Figure teams across 30 different states, optimizing on talent and communication. She is also an outspoken advocate for women in technology, with female representation in her product and engineering teams at 2-3X of the industry average for financial technology.
